As of May 27, the African Center for Disease Control and Prevention (African CDC) announced that Africa has recorded 4,660,304 cases of Covid, including 125,404 deaths, reports the Journal du Développement (www.lejournaldudeveloppement.com). In addition, African countries have carried out 45,408,875 screening tests, said the Africa CDC, a specialized health agency of the African Union (AU). Regarding vaccinations, 22.4 million doses were administered throughout the continent, out of the 38.03 million doses received. Only 0.40% of the African population has received both doses of the vaccine, according to the Africa CDC. The countries with the most vaccinations are Morocco (10.13 million doses, 11.9% of its population fully vaccinated ); Nigeria (1.67 million doses, 0.82%), and Ethiopia (1.3 million doses, 1.13%).
